Overview
Funxional Therapeutics is a Cambridge, UK–based clinical-stage pharmaceutical company developing novel anti-inflammatory therapies known as Broad Spectrum Chemokine Inhibitors (BSCIs). Its lead candidate, FX125L, is an orally available small molecule that completed a Phase I programme earlier this year involving over 100 healthy subjects in single- and multiple-ascending-dose studies in the US. FX125L is ready for Phase II studies in different inflammatory conditions. The company will also advance preclinical development of back-up compounds to FX125L in parallel. The new capital from the Series B will enable further progression of these development programmes. Funxional is managed by a team with extensive drug development experience and is supported by a Scientific Advisory Board composed of international experts in immunology and inflammation.
