Fuse Diagnostics is a Cambridge-based biotech startup developing rapid diagnostic testing platforms for industrial products. It is building two platforms: Flip, aimed at industrial, bioprocessing, food and water testing, and Apex for more advanced industrial testing. The company says the platforms also have applications in clinical diagnostics and veterinary markets. Fuse’s CEO says the platforms use proprietary ultra-rapid amplification chemistries that can produce results in under 10 minutes. The product format is described as small, low-cost, disposable tests that deliver laboratory-level performance with clear visual, on-demand results. The company raised £1.6m in a seed round to develop these platforms.
