FusionAuth builds authentication and customer identity tools that let engineering and product teams add registration, login, and user-management features to applications. Its platform includes APIs and SDKs for multi-factor authentication, passwordless login and passkey support, and machine-to-machine authentication. The software can be deployed locally, on virtual or cloud servers, or on dedicated hardware — even without an internet connection. Founder Brian Pontarelli launched FusionAuth in 2018 to address gaps in the login and authentication market. The company says it is profitable, has more than 450 paying customers and over 13 million downloads, and claims revenue has doubled year-over-year since founding. FusionAuth positions itself against native and legacy identity offerings such as Amazon Cognito, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Firebase, and Okta.
