Futraheat
Unit B, 91 Ewell Rd, Surbiton, Surrey, KT6 6AH, United Kingdom
Overview
Futraheat has developed the Greensteam 360, a 300kW industrial heat pump that boosts low-grade waste heat by up to 60°C to produce steam up to 150°C. The company says the technology can cut energy use by more than 80% and slash customers’ energy bills and CO2. To develop and deploy the system it has secured funding from Innovate UK and is combining that with existing investor cash to run a pilot. The firm has combined a newly secured £689,000 from Innovate UK with existing cash from Clean Growth Fund to deliver a £1 million pilot scheme. Next steps are to find a UK industrial partner to host the trial and demonstrate low-cost process steam for industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and brewing. Tom Taylor, CEO, says the pilot targets the 100–200°C process-heat sweet spot where much industrial heat demand is currently wasted.
