Fuze, an 8x8 company

675 Creekside Way, Campbell, California, 95008, United States

Overview

Fuze provides a cloud-based voice and HD video conferencing service that lets distributed teams meet, share content, and screen-share from any device. The platform is used by more than 100,000 businesses, including customers such as Groupon, Starbucks, Macy’s, and ThoughtWorks. In 2014 the service supported 6.5 million individual users—double the prior year—and now hosts nearly 2 million meeting minutes every day. Through the newly launched Fuze Spaces, the company is extending beyond meetings to persistent team collaboration with chat, file sharing, Google Drive integration, task lists, and one-click escalation to live video. This expansion was accelerated by the acquisition of online workspace startup LiveMinutes, whose team and technology are being integrated to lead product strategy. Fuze operates a freemium model and plans to add features like Collaborative Notes as it moves the product out of beta later this year. The company faces competition from incumbents such as WebEx, Basecamp, Slack, and Atlassian’s HipChat as remote work adoption rises. Significant new capital will fund continued product development and market expansion.
