Overview
Galgo began as Migrante, providing loans to Venezuelan migrants in Chile, and later refocused exclusively on motorcycle financing after a 2022 downturn in venture funding. The company has expanded into Mexico and Colombia, with Chile now representing roughly 2% of its business, and plans to enter a fourth Latin American market in the next quarter. Galgo has issued over $400 million in loans and reached profitability last year, reporting current annual revenue around $100 million and a target of $500 million by 2030. The startup emphasizes motorcycle financing as a way to increase income opportunities for customers, including couriers and mototaxi drivers. Its partnership with Uber is intended to help develop more affordable credit products for delivery couriers and to bolster investments in technology, analytics and AI. Galgo plans another fundraising round in 2027 and is considering further expansion within and potentially beyond Latin America alongside Uber.
