Gamerpay
Copenhagen, Hovedstaden, Denmark
Overview
GamerPay operates a marketplace for trading in-game skins and launched its platform in May. The marketplace is designed to enable safe skin trading even for minors under 18 and initially serves Counter-Strike, with additional titles planned. The company positions itself to reduce scamming in esports and has formed a formal partnership with Ninjas in Pyjamas to further that goal. GamerPay was accepted into Y Combinator’s Summer 2021 batch (including an investment) and subsequently closed a seed round. The company closed an oversubscribed $2 million seed financing and reported turning down investors as it filled the round. Co-founder Martin Lykke Suhr said the team believes a yearly revenue mark of $100 million is possible within 5–7 years.
