Overview

Gamevestor operates a dedicated crowdfunding marketplace for video game studios, allowing consumers to either pre-purchase a title or invest €100 or more for a share of the game’s future revenue. Founded by industry veterans Ivan Marchand (ex-Amazon, Google, EA) and Arthur Van Clap Ceulen (ex-Ubisoft), the platform hand-selects a limited slate of projects and supports them with marketing spend while vetting each campaign through an internal expert team. Funding campaigns run 45 days, can tap a pre-launch group of angel backers for early traction, and disburse capital to developers in milestone-based tranches to protect investors. Gamevestor charges Kickstarter-level crowdfunding fees and will earn an additional percentage of future game revenues alongside backers. The service targets mid-sized studios that have struggled to raise capital post-COVID and intends to launch publicly in early February with three live projects and two more in the pipeline. More than 200 studios have expressed interest, and the team ultimately hopes to become the primary funding source for mid-tier games and, eventually, major IPs. The company has raised €1 million to cover regulatory licensing costs, build the platform, and provide up to two years of operating runway, expecting profitability once successfully funded games begin generating royalties.
