Gameye

Westerstraat 10 Unit A9712, Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, 3016 DH, The Netherlands

Overview

Gameye aggregates global gaming infrastructure and exposes computing power to game developers through an API and proprietary server management services. Its on-demand approach to server management is designed to be flexible and resilient, addressing capacity management and lowering latency for multiplayer game sessions. The technology aims to help developers scale multiplayer games without sacrificing performance, including in upcoming or hard-to-reach places around the world. Gameye is Rotterdam-based and was founded in 2016. Next week the startup will host its second Industry Insights online event featuring speakers from Microsoft, Paladin Studios and Photon Engine. Financially, it has raised prior capital, including a $1.6 million seed round early last year from Seedcamp, Makers Fund and angel investors. Gameye builds an API and hosting platform that matches players for multiplayer online games, prioritizing both skill and low-latency connections. The company created a hybrid environment of dedicated and cloud servers with container technology to place sessions on the best low-latency network and spin resources up or down based on need. Founded in 2017, Gameye began with an esports matchmaking focus and expanded to address broader multiplayer infrastructure challenges for studios. Its tools aim to remove the burden from developers of building custom multiplayer systems for each title, allowing studios to concentrate on game development. Gameye positions itself as a cost-efficient, effective hosting and matchmaking solution for competitive and multiplayer gaming. The company recently raised $1.6 million to support its product and business development efforts.
