Overview
Gate2Brain, founded in 2020 as a spin-off from IRB Barcelona, the University of Barcelona and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, is developing a proprietary blood–brain barrier delivery platform. Its MiniAp4 peptide shuttle is used to enable brain delivery, and the company’s lead therapeutic candidate is G2B-002. Preclinical studies of G2B-002 have reportedly shown improved brain delivery and reduced side effects in paediatric brain tumour models. The company has received support from several public and private programs, including Fundación Botín, Banco Sabadell, CDTI Innovación, the EIC Accelerator, ACCIÓ Startup Capital and Fundación "la Caixa". Gate2Brain plans to advance G2B-002 toward clinical development and expand its platform into additional CNS indications, leveraging partnerships for manufacturing, CMC and regulatory strategy.
