Gebana Faso (GFA), a subsidiary of the gebana Group based in Bobo Dioulasso, processes and exports Fair Trade and Organic cashew nuts and dried mangoes. The company sources raw cashew and mango from about 3,500 local family farmers. GFA focuses on building integrated and sustainable food supply chains and emphasizes eco-friendly practices and fair‑trade premiums for farmers. With a co-investment of EUR 6 million from EDFI AgriFI and BIO, GFA plans to establish a state-of-the-art processing facility in the south of Bobo Dioulasso. The project aims to ramp up processing capacity, optimize energy utilization, and create rural employment. The gebana approach includes premiums linked to Organic and Fairtrade certifications and a profit‑sharing mechanism (including distribution of 10% of webshop turnover back to farmers) to increase smallholder incomes.
