Geckoboard
71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, England, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom
Overview
Geckoboard offers a web-based dashboard product that aggregates real-time business metrics into customizable widgets that work across PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones. The company ships a Widget Editor that lets developers build and preview new widgets using standard web languages, the same tool Geckoboard uses for its pre-built widgets. As of the announcement it lists 55 existing widgets for services like Google Analytics, Twitter, Salesforce, Pingdom, Basecamp, Zendesk and Facebook. Since launching in February 2011, Geckoboard has acquired about 1,400 customers, including Atlassian, Groupon, Gdgt, SecondMarket and Stack Exchange. Management says the new funding will accelerate the number of integrations it can offer customers and help it compete with startups such as iDashboards and Cyfe. Geckoboard provides realtime dashboards that pull widgets from about 20 services (CRM, helpdesk, analytics, mail, social, etc.) and lets companies add custom data via an API. It launched publicly to offer an alternative to site-focused realtime tools by aggregating metrics from services like Basecamp, GitHub, MailChimp, Google Analytics, Zendesk and Chartbeat. The dashboards use no Flash so they can be viewed on iPads, iPhones and HDTV screens. After a 30-day free trial, Geckoboard charges $9–$19 per device per month, with faster widget update speeds at higher tiers. The product supports feeds such as Twitter, RSS and Foursquare checkins and includes simple widgets like clocks and calendars. Geckoboard recently completed a $300,000 seed round with participation from angel investors.
