Overview

Gem Security offers a cloud-native detection and response platform designed to prepare, detect, respond and remediate cloud security incidents with contextual forensics and fast action. The company launched its service earlier this year and has already signed dozens of enterprise customers, including Repsol, OpenWeb, Thirty Madison, Kaltura and Allan Gray. Gem is expanding beyond infrastructure protections to cover additional platforms and SaaS integrations while keeping a focus on detection and response. The product roadmap includes enhancing forensics capabilities and applying generative AI to improve security analyst efficiency and automate some workflows with a human in the loop. Gem positions itself to address the next phase of cloud security by assuming incidents will occur and enabling timely response rather than relying solely on perimeter protections. Financially, the company recently raised new capital after an earlier seed round to support growth and product expansion. Gem Security offers a TDIR platform that provides real-time threat detection, investigation and response across major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Kubernetes. The product ingests data from multiple sources — identity providers, code repositories and other security tools — to give SecOps teams a single, contextualized view of cloud assets and incidents. Its detection engine combines a library of cloud-specific tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) with cloud-entity behavioral analytics to tailor detections to each environment and reduce alert noise. The company emphasizes automating large portions of cloud security operations and adopting an “assume breach” approach focused on detection and mitigation rather than prevention alone. Gem’s team includes founders with experience at Israel’s Unit 8200 and at cybersecurity firm Sygnia, which the company says informed its incident-response-driven approach. While it has not disclosed customers, Gem says it is already working with a number of companies including Fortune 500 firms and recently closed seed funding.
