GeneAssess is a New Jersey-based biotechnology company focused on molecular diagnostics for cancer. Its core product is FRY, a cancer molecular signature gene discovered by its scientists that could provide a more accurate diagnostic biomarker for cancer staging. The company intends to use new funding to validate FRY. GeneAssess received a commitment of up to $500K from Foundation Venture Capital Group to support that validation. The company was founded by Dr. Helmut Zarbl, a professor of environmental and occupational medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Zarbl is also a member of the Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) and the Associate Director for Public Health Science at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
