Genext Students is an online tutoring platform that pairs school students with private tutors and offers digital content including study material, sample question papers, videos and e-books, along with assessment and performance-analysis tools. The company was founded in 2011 by London School of Economics alumni Ali Asgar Kagzi and Asad Daud and launched services in 2013. Genext says it has 6 lakh users and 700 tutors on its platform. It raised $200,000 from crowdfunding platform 1Crowd and will use the funds to strengthen its technology backbone and for marketing. The $200K is part of a targeted larger $1 million round. Genext also plans to strengthen its core team.
