Genie Enterprise
108 West 13th Street, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801, United States
Overview
Genie Enterprise develops and markets small-size smart ovens and a pod-based food system that cooks freeze-dried and dry ingredients into restaurant-quality meals in 2–3 minutes using proprietary technology and algorithms. Meals are supplied in pre-sealed individual pods with unique bar codes that instruct the oven’s proprietary sequence (heating, cooling, agitating, microwaving and steaming) and contain no preservatives, artificial flavorings, colorings, or additives. The company works with top chefs to create menu items and plans to offer an initial U.S. selection of eight meals. Genie launched commercially in Israel in 2017 and co-owns a pod-filling facility in Northern Israel with capacity to manufacture 10 million meals per year. The business targets B2B customers including offices, coffee chains, hotels, hospitals, businesses and government entities. Management includes co-founders Doron Marco (CTO) and Ayelet Carasso-Sternberg (CEO); investor Dan Ariely is also involved, and the company’s model is based on customers buying, eating and replenishing its meals.
