Geno.Me has developed software that enables people to anonymously share genetic reports and electronic medical records with medical researchers and receive cash each time their data is purchased. The company targets precision-medicine customers, including pharmaceutical and biotech firms, and highlights additional use cases such as dental providers. Geno.Me launched a beta product in March and plans to debut the first full version at a Public Launch Party on September 28 at Saint Kate–The Arts Hotel. The startup emphasizes providing more complete and diverse datasets to accelerate medical research and give contributors control and compensation for their data. Financially, Geno.Me closed a $500,000 funding round by the end of November 2021, which funded the product development that led to the beta and upcoming public launch. Gateway Capital Partners led the majority of that round and committed to relocating the company from Madison to Milwaukee as part of its support.
