The company operates 12,000 online eateries across 40 Indian cities and runs 15 company-owned and operated cloud kitchens in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Founded by Karan Tanna, Ghost Kitchens has pursued growth via acquisitions, buying Chef Vicky Ratnani’s SpeakBurgers in February 2023 and earlier acquiring WTF in 2022 to develop its in-house technology. The recent $5 million Series A (debt and equity) will be used to expand retail locations for its celebrity and hero brands, accelerate operations, enhance the partner program, and broaden its cloud kitchen and QSR footprint. The startup aims to open 25 physical retail locations for SpeakBurgers in the next 18–24 months and expects to be profitable within 12–15 months.
