Giftbit runs a profit-generating digital gift card marketplace and has launched a new SaaS product that enables merchants to create their own custom e-commerce currency (gift cards, promo codes, refund credits) via an API and a web app. The API drops into the retailer checkout flow while the web app lets non-technical users generate and distribute codes, track contacts, and run reports. The product is PCI compliant and positioned for enterprise use; Giftbit has worked with customers including Gusto, AutoDesk, Red Bull, LogMeIn, and HubSpot. It ran a limited beta with 10 merchants (ClassPass is onboarding) and launched into public beta at TechCrunch Disrupt. The company plans integrations with business tools like Salesforce and Zapier and will be available to Shopify Plus merchants. As a SaaS offering, pricing starts at $90/month for 1,000 active codes with $15/month per additional 1,000 codes.
