GigPig operates a live music marketplace that streamlines how venues of all sizes search, book and manage entertainment and gives artists a free platform to find and get paid for gigs. Led by CEO Michael Forster, the platform currently represents more than 6,000 artists and 650 venues nationwide. The company says its service has helped venues improve customer satisfaction, drive footfall and increase sales. GigPig plans to launch new data-led products and services, including market insights for venues to measure live music’s impact on sales and satisfaction. It is also developing an app to make it easier for artists to find and be booked for gigs. The business intends to use the new funding to create additional gigging opportunities across towns and cities in the UK.
