Its Proofreader product corrects spelling and grammar based on context and the Personalized Tutor provides tailored lessons, tips, and quizzes informed by users' errors. The company supports Microsoft Office, IE, and Firefox and includes a text-to-speech feature in its premium offering. Ginger's technology was developed by NLP experts, statisticians, linguists, and educators using a context-aware text-correction algorithm. Leadership says the technology can eliminate up to 95 percent of common writing errors for dyslexic users and new English learners. The company plans to expand overseas and to further productize its text-to-speech capabilities to enable contextual search across media.
