Givefront

San Francisco, CA, 94105, United States

Overview

Givefront is building a unified financial platform tailored to the 1.9 million registered nonprofits in the United States, including food banks, churches, animal rescues, NGOs, and homeowner associations. The software layers real-time spend controls, grant-based budgeting, receipt capture, and automated reporting on top of legacy accounting systems such as Blackbaud and Sage to meet nonprofits’ stringent compliance demands. After realizing that replacing entire accounting stacks was a lengthy sales cycle, the founders pivoted to a card-first spend-management approach, allowing organizations to adopt Givefront simply by switching their payment card. The company earns revenue from card interchange and subscriptions attached to its bill-pay feature, and reports more than 200% month-over-month growth in both revenue and total payment volume since launching its cards six months ago. Hundreds of organizations have already onboarded, with a target of serving about 1,000 nonprofits by year-end and 5,000 by mid-next year; churches and religious groups currently lead adoption. Future product extensions include payroll, banking, budgeting, and potential investment and endowment management modules. Givefront was founded by 21-year-olds Matt Tengtrakool and Aidan Sunbury, alongside a 17-year-old founding engineer, drawing on Tengtrakool’s first-hand experience running student nonprofits.
