Glean AI offers a machine-learning driven Accounts Payable (AP) platform that breaks invoices down by line item to surface spend leakage, redundant vendors, incorrect pricing and negotiation opportunities. The product combines invoice analysis, benchmarking data and payments capabilities; the company is also launching international payments. Founder Howard Katzenberg, an ex-CFO of OnDeck and Better.com, started Glean after identifying $1.5M in potential savings while auditing spend on a ~$12–15M revenue run rate. Co-founders include Ankur Patel (head of data science) and Alexander Jia (head of product). Glean says its typical customer is a Series B–C company growing ~100% year-over-year; early customers include Orum and Alloy. The company has about 30 employees across eight countries and maintains an office in New York City. Glean plans to use the new capital to double down on product and engineering and scale go-to-market efforts.
