Overview
Glionova Therapeutics is developing GLN-1001, a first-in-class, orally available oncolytic small molecule intended as a disease-modifying treatment for glioblastoma. GLN-1001 is in preclinical development and has dramatically prolonged survival in patient-derived xenograft animal models. The company plans to advance GLN-1001 into clinical development and aims to apply for orphan drug designation in both the United States and the European Union. To support this effort, Glionova completed a SEK 42 million (US$5.7 million) Series A financing co-led by HealthCap and Novo Seeds, with Industrifonden joining the round. Following Industrifonden's investment, Nina Rawal of Industrifonden will join Glionova’s board of directors. Glionova is privately held and focused on translating its preclinical efficacy into clinical trials for patients with aggressive brain cancer.
