Glo develops nanotechnology-based LED light sources using proprietary nLEDTM technology for displays, illumination, and automotive markets. Its products use advanced gallium nitride materials to produce stable red, green and blue emitters from a single material system without phosphor conversion. Glo says its first-generation nLED products demonstrate superior color and competitive efficiencies versus standard planar LEDs. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its product portfolio, grow the team, and deepen strategic partnerships. Glo operates a 60-person R&D and operations facility in Sunnyvale, California, and has established a sales and support office in Tokyo. It is a spin-off of Lund University in Sweden and emphasizes manufacturability on standard equipment and materials.
