Gloat
599 Broadway, 6th Floor, New York, 10012, United States
Overview
Gloat sells an AI-powered platform that integrates with existing enterprise software to map skills, roles, candidates and companies and match employees to internal job openings. The system is trained on CVs, professional profiles, job descriptions, academic content, economic and compensation data to infer role differences across companies, geographies and industries. Gloat’s product also offers personalized career-path recommendations, guidance on skills to develop, and shadowing or part-time opportunities, while providing bias-detection tools and a customizable “anti-biased” dataset. Its customer roster includes Mastercard, Unilever, Schneider Electric, Nestlé, Novartis, Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC; the platform has more than 1.1 million users in over 120 countries. Founded in 2015 by Ben Reuveni, Amichai Schreiber and Danny Shteinberg, the company employs over 250 people and plans to expand its presence and strengthen R&D. Financially, Gloat has been growing VC-backed, most recently closing a large Series D to continue product and geographic expansion. Gloat builds an AI-powered platform that enterprises use to power internal job boards and match employees to roles. The product integrates with existing recruiting tools and ingests employment records, resumes, LinkedIn profiles and user input to build skills-based profiles and referrals. It offers guidance on skill gaps, options for part-time internal projects, and search tools for departments and managers to source talent. The company is expanding product coverage to contractor openings, secondments at other businesses, and frontline roles beyond its current knowledge-worker focus, and plans to add more analytics for HR teams and managers. Gloat counts customers including Unilever, Pepsi, MetLife, HSBC and ADP, is Tel Aviv-based, has raised $92M to date, and recently closed a $57M Series C at an implied valuation reported around $400M (reported range $300M–$500M). Gloat provides an AI-powered internal talent marketplace that analyzes employees' career options, achievements and aspirations to proactively match them with internal part-time projects, gigs, full-time positions, mentorships and job swaps. The platform also gives enterprises real-time visibility into internal talent pools and impending skills gaps, enabling managers to access needed skills without costly external recruitment. Founded by Ben Reuveni, Amichai Schreiber and Danny Shteinberg, the company operates globally with a large R&D center in Tel Aviv and an office in New York City. In December 2019 Gloat raised $25m in a Series B round to support growth. The funds will be used to expand its New York and Tel Aviv offices through hiring and to further enhance its HR technology. The company focuses on helping employees grow targeted skills while expanding their internal networks. Workey is a Tel Aviv-headquartered career site that uses an anonymous-profile system and an AI recommendation engine to match companies with passive candidates. Candidates create anonymous profiles used to find positions they qualify for and can reveal full details only when a company requests an introduction; rejections remain anonymous. The platform lets candidates track application status, aims to mitigate hiring bias by hiding race, gender, ethnicity, and religion initially, and currently focuses on tech companies. Workey has worked with more than 400 companies, including Yahoo, Amazon, Dell EMC, and Oracle. The service is free for candidates and monetizes by charging companies a fee; the founders say it can save employers thousands versus headhunters or recruitment agencies. Workey launched in the U.S. and plans to expand there, open a New York City office, and hire for R&D and data-science teams; it has raised $9.6M to date including seed funding.
