Gloria is a social media app for soccer players and fans that enables users to upload videos of themselves and participate in community-driven discussion sections. It includes a newly created Communities area that the founder likened to Reddit. The company was founded in Miami in 2018 by Victoire Cogevina and Matias Castello; Cogevina relocated to San Francisco early on and later returned to Miami. Gloria is currently in closed beta, plans a soft launch this year, and is aiming for a full launch timed to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The startup is hiring developers, designers, and a community manager as it scales product and community efforts. Financially, Gloria has just completed a seed fundraise to support those efforts.
