Overview
Glow offers a mobile app that helps women track fertility cycles and supports pregnancy-related health through additional apps like Glow First, Glow for Enterprise and Glow Nurture. The company says its platform has been responsible for getting over 20,000 women pregnant. Glow emphasizes data science and information gathering to drive research and improve care. CEO Mike Huang plans to build out women’s health products further and to double-down on product, data and research, and on insurance. The company has expanded its product family to move users beyond fertility tracking into broader maternal health and well-being. Glow is a fertility-tracking app co-founded by Max Levchin (executive chairman) and Michael Huang (co-founder and CEO) and launched on the App Store. It includes a free tracker that lets users worldwide enter detailed menstrual and symptom data to predict daily fertility and is designed for use by both partners. Glow First is an optional U.S. 10-month program in which users contribute $50 per month to a pooled fund that pays for fertility treatments for couples who do not become pregnant within the program. Max Levchin personally seeded Glow First with $1 million. The company operates under an umbrella called HVF that focuses on machine learning and big data for healthcare, and its R&D team is based in Shanghai while full-time staff of about 10 are split between Shanghai and San Francisco. The team plans an Android release in the future.
