GlowRoad connects manufacturers with resellers and uses dropshipping so resellers can run stores without holding inventory. The platform targets housewives and stay-at-home mothers, letting them market primarily through WhatsApp and Facebook groups. GlowRoad reports about 100,000 registered users, 36,000 active resellers and roughly 1,000 transactions per day. Suppliers list goods at wholesale prices, pay a 500-rupee monthly fee, and resellers set their own margins; opening a store is free while premium features are paid. The company acqui-hired the team behind LocalQueen to help build the product and reseller network. GlowRoad plans to use recent funding to scale its quality-assurance processes, hire for digital marketing and engineering, and improve the supply side.
