Go Lemon, founded in 2017 and based in Laren, offers a monthly iPhone subscription that lets consumers use Apple devices on a flexible, no-purchase, no-minimum-term basis for a fixed monthly fee. As of March 2019 the company had attracted hundreds of subscribers. Go Lemon retains ownership of the devices so subscriptions do not affect consumers' credit scores. The company performs extensive credit checks, provides brand-new, insured equipment, and sends immediate replacements for accidental damage. Founder Bas van der Putten says the service is intended to free consumers from long-term contracts and make Apple products more affordable and accessible.
