Goby is an activity-focused search engine that aggregates event- and activity-driven local listings from across the web. Users search by what, where, and when, and Goby returns matching options within those parameters. The company has launched apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Since January, site traffic has grown from 50,000 unique visitors to 500,000 in July. Goby plans to add more social functionality so users can recommend activities to friends on social networks. The company recently raised $2.5 million in new funding, bringing total funding to $7.5 million, and will use the proceeds for product development and marketing.
