Goko operates a platform and SDK for HTML5 game developers to publish, monetize and distribute games across multiple channels including iOS, Android, Facebook and Google+. The company launched a multiplayer version of a Settlers of Catan massive-multiplayer game called Dominion and ships platform tools such as leaderboards, achievements, microtransaction support, game hosting and analytics. The platform is launching with 150 titles and has 15 additional games in production, including 10 that Goko is building in-house. Goko’s revenue share with developers is negotiable and varies depending on use of the company’s intellectual property. The company is led by CEO Ted Griggs, who previously was behind the company that became Microsoft’s MSN Gaming Zone. Goko has raised $8 million from Redpoint Ventures and Alsop Louie Partners.
