Overview
Gonddo operates a digital platform that helps small retailers and independent brands buy inventory simply and with flexible payment options. The platform offers free shipping across Brazil and payment terms of up to 60 days. Retailers and suppliers can communicate directly on the platform, and joining the community carries no fees. The company was founded in January 2020 by Rodrigo Cruz, Bruno Passos and Guilherme Cruz; Rodrigo’s background in a family of commercial representatives informed the product. Gonddo aims to connect the entire Brazilian supply chain to small retailers and to offer payment terms nearly twice as good as merchants normally obtain. Financially, the company joined Y Combinator’s January–March 2021 batch (held remotely) and received a US$125,000 investment as part of that program. Gonddo is a marketplace platform that connects brands and retailers to simplify B2B wholesale purchasing, currently focused on cosmetics, food and beverages. The platform is free for retailers and charges a fixed percentage commission to brands; it advances payment to suppliers and offers retailers up to 60-day payment terms. Gonddo says its service eliminates supplier delinquency and optimizes retailer cash flow, with customers saving about 25% on purchases made through the platform. The company’s network includes more than 40 brands and roughly 600 retailers across Brazil. Since March of last year the startup reports a 77% increase in revenue. Within three months the company plans to expand into pet and apparel categories; the new funds will be used mainly to grow the team and invest in technology.
