Gong is developing a news aggregation platform that predicts which articles will interest each reader before they trend broadly. The service combines social-media spread patterns with signals from a user’s own browsing to power its proprietary “HackRank” personalization engine. Readers can search for topics, subscribe to feeds, or browse breaking news and staff picks, with each item showing a Gong social-share count and linking out via RSS. Since the current version launched in September, traffic has grown about 30 percent monthly, and 25 percent of each day’s visitors return after previous sessions, all without marketing spend. The product is deliberately ad-free while the team focuses on algorithm quality and audience expansion, though advertising experiments are planned. Gong has raised a $3 million seed round but is not yet generating revenue. CEO Itzik Ben-Bassat, a former Blizzard Entertainment executive and Wix board member, leads the company.
