Overview
Goodwall is a Geneva-based skills-focused social network that helps young people showcase skills, connect to learning and earning opportunities, and participate in social challenges. The platform hosts digital profiles for learners and supports over 2 million users across more than 150 countries. Goodwall helps youth strengthen skills through social challenges and access skills-based opportunities with partners that include UNICEF, Randstad, and SAP. The company is exploring how blockchain and Web3 can facilitate cross-border micropayments, certify learner progress on a verifiable ledger, and support a skills-based global economy. EMURGO and EMURGO Middle East & Africa have made a strategic investment and partnership to support Goodwall's sustainable growth into a Web3 service. EMURGO's capabilities as a Cardano founding entity and enterprise-grade blockchain developer are expected to guide Goodwall's transition to blockchain-enabled services. Goodwall operates a mobile-first professional network aimed at 14–24 year-olds, allowing high school and college students to showcase skills, connect with peers, and discover education and employment opportunities. The platform matches student and graduate users to employers for internships and entry-level roles, and connects high school users with colleges and scholarships. Goodwall generates revenue by charging colleges and enterprises to source, engage and recruit motivated students from its pool. The company says it has more than one million members and focuses on providing a community-driven profile and matching experience distinct from traditional job boards. Goodwall competes with larger networks like LinkedIn at the older end of its demographic but emphasizes early relationships by serving high school students as “the first resume they build.” The startup plans product and sales expansion in the U.S. and intends to use investment to add talent and features for both high school and college users. Goodwall operates a website and mobile app that connects high school students (aged roughly 14–18) to peer networks, colleges and scholarship opportunities and lets them showcase extracurricular accomplishments. The platform recognizes a student each month for extracurricular activities and awards that student a scholarship. Led by co-founder and CEO Taha Bawa, Goodwall provides tools, resources and guidance to help students make informed decisions about education and careers. The company says the community includes more than half a million students from over 150 countries and 6,000 schools and is connected to more than 3,000 universities and colleges. Goodwall intends to use the seed funding to extend its reach and expand its offerings. The company is based in Geneva, Switzerland.
