Grabhouse is an online rental marketplace that accepts listings only from property owners and blocks brokers to reduce fees and gatekeeping. The site verifies listings and requires standardized data, including suitability for single women or families. It monetizes via a low-cost contact fee (49 rupees) and a premium service (999 rupees) that pairs renters with “neighborhood specialists” who help find listings and arrange move-in services. Grabhouse says 2,000 listings go live daily and it has closed 50,000 properties to date. The company plans to build a virtual neighborhood specialist (launch expected in 4–6 months) with online tours, a scheduling calendar, and other tools, and to introduce two products for shared accommodation. It currently operates in eleven Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi, and intends to deepen presence in those markets rather than expand geographically.
