Overview

Grabr operates a peer-to-peer social logistics marketplace that matches international shoppers with existing travelers to deliver products that are unavailable or expensive locally. The platform offers secure payments and an in-app messaging system and reports travelers earn on average $350 on their first trip. Grabr says it has a community of more than 450,000 users and that travelers have earned over $1 million in personal delivery rewards from deliveries across 53 countries on six continents. The company reports it has grown 5x since raising its seed round. It will use new funding to launch major product updates and features to improve user experience, increase ways travelers and shoppers can earn, and to hire talent in marketplace, community, and logistics sectors. Founded in March 2015 and based in San Francisco, Grabr has raised more than $14 million in venture capital to date. Grabr is a San Francisco–based peer-to-peer community marketplace that connects shoppers and travelers to enable access to international goods. The platform lets shoppers request products they cannot obtain locally and lets travelers monetize extra suitcase space by delivering those items. Co-founded by Daria Rebenok and Artem Fedyaev, the company has connected over 200,000 users, with total requested product value exceeding $25M. The app is available for free download in the App Store. Grabr plans to use new funding to further scale and grow globally and to focus on product and user experience. The company recently raised $2.7M to support that expansion. Grabr operates a peer-to-peer marketplace that matches shoppers who want items from abroad with travelers willing to buy and hand-deliver those items. Shoppers create an order (including a product URL), travelers bid to deliver, and payments are held until receipt. The platform includes in-app messaging to arrange delivery details and pays travelers only after shoppers receive their items. Since a beta launch in January, Grabr has grown to over 50,000 users, with combined orders exceeding $4M and monthly sales growth of about 30%. The team has expanded from three to 12 employees across offices in Moscow and San Francisco. Grabr plans to use recent funding to hire additional front- and back-end developers, an Android developer, and marketing and growth staff, and to build partnerships and traveler incentives. The company is targeting further expansion into South American and South‑East Asian markets while continuing product improvements.
