Gradient Denervation Technologies develops a minimally invasive, ultrasound-based catheter intended to reduce sympathetic input into the pulmonary vasculature as a treatment for pulmonary hypertension. The company’s initial clinical focus is Group 2 pulmonary hypertension in patients with heart failure and elevated pulmonary vascular resistance. Gradient initiated a first-in-human clinical study earlier this year and its device is for investigational use only, not approved for commercial use. The technology is built on intellectual property developed by clinicians at the Stanford Biodesign Program and the company was incubated by Sofinnova MD Start. Gradient was established in 2020 and is headquartered in Paris. The recent financing will support ongoing clinical development and evaluation of the device.
