Gramco is an Indore-based, three-year-old rural-focused company that creates and leases full-service agri-infrastructure primarily in the vicinity of villages and producing areas. Its infrastructure offerings span inputs, warehousing, collateral finance, contract farming and seed production, and include fully automated handling, cleaning, grading and procurement services along with market-link creation for farmers. The company currently owns two multi-service facilities near Indore and plans to set up another 11 by FY15, targeting an increase in farmers served from about 700–800 to 10,000 by 2015. Gramco secured its first equity round of Rs 15 crore (approximately $2.3M) from Samridhi Fund. The proceeds will be used to construct agri-warehouses in Madhya Pradesh and to meet working capital requirements. Intellecap's investment banking vertical acted as the sole financial advisor on the transaction.
