Granza Bio was founded by Ashwin Nandakumar, Ashwin Jainarayanan and professor Michael Dustin out of research in Dustin’s lab. The company is building a platformed delivery approach to carry immunotherapy and other therapeutic cargo across organ systems. Founders entered the Y Combinator Winter 2024 batch and attracted rapid investor interest. The team initially planned to raise $2.5 million to complete key experiments but expanded the raise as more investors lined up. Granza intends to use the seed funding to broaden its research beyond initial experimentation and advance its delivery technology. Investors and Granza see potential for broad applications across oncology and autoimmune diseases if the delivery mechanism proves generalizable.
