Green Monday Holdings

28/F, One Kowloon, 1 Wang Yuen Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Overview

Green Monday Holdings manufactures plant-based pork substitutes and prepared frozen meals under its OmniFoods brand and operates vegetarian-focused retail outlets and cafes under Green Common. The company grew out of a Hong Kong social movement started on Earth Day in 2012 and is the business arm of the Green Monday advocacy organization founded by David Yeung and Francis Ngai. Green Monday said it raised $70 million in financing to fund expansion and other initiatives. Planned uses include entering 10 new markets across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and North America, adding 20,000 retail outlets for its products, and opening flagship Green Common stores in China and Singapore. The investment also brought a strategic partnership with conglomerate Swire Pacific, which already serves OmniPork onboard Cathay Pacific and is exploring retail and supply-chain collaborations. Investors named in the round include TPG’s The Rise Fund, Swire Pacific, CPT Capital, Jefferies Group and Sino Group’s Ng Family Trust, alongside previous corporate and celebrity backers.
