Green2X
Strandvejen 125, Hellerup, Hovedstaden, 2900, Denmark
Overview
Green2X develops technology that converts biomass into biomethane, positioning itself to become a leader in next-generation biofuels. Backed by fresh funding, the company is building a pilot facility on the island of Møn to validate and optimise its process. The pilot is a precursor to a full-scale plant in Vordingborg, budgeted at DKK 1.5 billion, which is projected to produce more than 175 million normal cubic metres of biomethane annually—about 10 % of Denmark’s current gas consumption. Green2X also plans to expand into Malmö after Vordingborg comes online, creating a broader Scandinavian production network. CEO Mikkel Sjølin Kiil emphasises that the business case remains attractive despite inflation, higher costs, and a volatile policy environment in renewable energy. The company ultimately seeks to establish a European green-energy hub and scale its biofuel solutions globally.
