Greeneye Technology

Yitzhak Sadeh St 8, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Tel Aviv, Israel

Overview

Greeneye Technologies, founded in 2017 and led by CEO Nadav Bocher, develops AI-enabled precision spraying technology to offer sustainable alternatives to conventional crop protection. The company harnesses AI and deep machine learning to make intelligent, real-time decisions in the field that are proven to cut chemical use and improve weed-control efficacy versus standard broadcast spraying. Greeneye aims to increase productivity and profitability for farmers while addressing environmental challenges and global food production demand. The firm plans to use the new funding to scale its U.S. operations, advance the technology's analytical capabilities, and extend usage to new inputs and crops. Financially, the company announced a $20M funding raise led by Deep Insight. Greeneye Technology makes an AI-based precision spraying system that retrofits existing machines with cameras and sensors so the system recognizes weeds in real time and sprays only targeted areas. In on-farm field trials the system reduced non-residual herbicide use by an average of 86% while achieving the same weed control and yield as traditional broadcast spraying; a University of Nebraska–Lincoln ARD trial showed an 87% reduction in post-emergence use and a 94% reduction in burndown applications. Greeneye reported trial cost savings of $24.70/acre for pre-emergence and $40.50/acre for post-emergence applications. The company launched the technology in early 2022, said demand exhausted available units for 2023, and treated “tens of thousands of acres” last year. Greeneye plans to scale commercial deployments via partnerships and is targeting a U.S. launch with FBN members for the 2024 growing season, with expansion to Canada and possibly South America under consideration. The product is positioned to lower input costs, improve efficacy, and enable new crop-protection programs by making precise spraying more affordable. Greeneye develops proprietary AI-enabled precision spraying technology that uses deep machine learning to enable intelligent, real-time decisions for precise application of herbicides and other chemicals. The company announced the commercial launch of its technology in October 2021. Greeneye completed a $22M funding round to support commercialization and growth. Proceeds will fund a U.S. commercial launch in 2022 and expansion across North America in 2023, and will be used to advance analytical capabilities and extend use to new inputs and crops. Ahead of these milestones Greeneye will double its R&D team in Israel and its sales and operations team in the U.S. The company was founded in 2017 in Tel Aviv by CEO Nadav Bocher. Greeneye Technology, founded in 2017 and based in Tel Aviv, develops an artificial intelligence platform to detect and spray weeds in real time. Its selective spraying (SSP) system can integrate into any agricultural sprayer by retrofitting existing sprayers or via collaboration with sprayer manufacturers to deliver plant-level variable-rate spraying. The platform maps entire fields with cameras at plant-level resolution and enables targeted, selective applications. The company intends to use the funds to advance product research and development and to expand strategic partnerships with sprayer manufacturers and other stakeholders. Greeneye has attracted participation from both venture and industry investors. Following the round, JVP Partner Michal Drayman and Syngenta Ventures' Managing Director Shubhang Shankar joined Greeneye's board.
