Greenitio has developed a patented green-chemistry platform that produces high-performance biopolymers using mushroom-derived chitosan as the primary feedstock (50–99% of formulations). Its water-based, ambient-temperature process avoids toxic solvents and chemical waste, yields materials that are 100% bio‑based and naturally degradable, and reportedly cuts carbon footprint by 87% versus conventional chemistry. The startup offers cationic, tunable ingredients that act as drop-in replacements in water- and oil-based formulations, with claimed benefits including SPF boosting, film-forming, water resistance, anti-inflammatory effects, deep moisturisation and active delivery. Three flagship lines—Chitosola, Chitobela and Chitobe—are listed in the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients and registered with China’s IECIC. Greenitio operates R&D, lab-scale and pilot production in Singapore and uses a toll manufacturer in India with capacity to scale toward 25 tonnes per month; it plans a Benelux subsidiary to support European commercialisation. The company targets cosmetics, personal care, home care and specialty chemicals customers and is developing bespoke derivatives with testing agreements in place with unnamed global beauty and ingredient partners.
