Overview
GreenWatt is a waste-to-energy company that designs, develops, commercializes and maintains locally integrated turn-key biogas installations for the agro-food and beverage industry. Its systems produce biogas that can be used in combined heat and power (cogeneration) or upgraded to natural gas‑quality biomethane for grid injection. Target customers include farmers, food and beverage companies, food service and food retail businesses, and other sustainable biomass users. The company was founded in 2004 as a spin-off of Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and is led by CEO Philippe Mengal. Headquartered in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, GreenWatt sells and services on-site installations and supports clients through operation and maintenance.
