Overview

Grid Smarter Cities has developed Kerb, a platform (app, online interface and on‑street e‑sign) that allows drivers and delivery fleets to reserve kerbspace time slots. The system lets users book up to 90 minutes, 24 hours a day, with the aim of reducing idling and time spent searching for parking. Kerb will be deployed to manage parking for fully electric vehicles at two sites in the City of Westminster as part of an 18‑month trial to better manage loading bays. The trial is intended to help delivery companies plan greener last‑mile options such as cargo bikes or walking for onward deliveries. Financially, the Newcastle Helix‑based company has received three rounds of funding from Innovate UK since 2018 and has now secured a £2m investment to carry the Westminster project forward. The TIG Corporate Finance deal was supported by legal advice from Square One Law and specialist tax advice from RMT Accountants.
