Gridraven develops a software-only Dynamic Line Rating system that leverages machine learning–based weather models to optimise transmission-line capacity. The company’s AI forecasts aim to unlock up to 30% more grid capacity annually by exploiting favorable weather conditions rather than adding hardware. Trials with Estonian grid operator Elering on a 110 kV line showed forecast accuracy 60% better than existing forecasts, maintained a 95.1% 95% confidence-interval reliability, and produced a forecasted capacity a third higher from September to November 2024. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Tallinn, Gridraven is positioning its technology to reduce delays in connecting data centers, renewables and industry to grids. CEO Georg Rute says the firm is expanding into the US and registering Gridraven Inc to be closer to customers. The company has publicly stated a goal of increasing global transmission capacity by 30% and will scale operations and grow its team to accelerate solution rollout.
