Grindr operates a location-based social network and hookup app serving gay men, with users in every country. The app reports about two million daily users who spend an average of 54 minutes in the app. Grindr generated $32 million in revenue in 2014, up from $25 million the previous year. Founder and CEO Joel Simkhai said the investment is a vote of confidence and that it will be "business as usual." Company leadership says the capital will be used to accelerate growth and expand services for users.
