GRN Association is building GRNGrid, a stable, environmentally focused Layer 1 blockchain with integrated DeFi features. The project is designed to allow users to transact using nodes that run exclusively on renewable energy. The association says the blockchain’s consensus method will deliver increased security, enhanced decentralisation, and improved financial sustainability. The group also operates the ReCharge program to help validators repurpose hardware and reduce electronic waste. The new $50 million in funding will be used to deepen connectivity with top crypto exchanges, add global partnerships, and build out blockchain technology and infrastructure. The company expects to roll out the GRNGrid project by Q2 of 2023.
