Groundlight AI
911 East Pike Street Suite 200, Seattle, Washington, 98122, United States
Overview
Groundlight provides a visual-understanding service that converts natural-language task descriptions into application-specific computer vision models so developers can build vision solutions with a few lines of code. The platform targets industrial automation, process monitoring, retail analytics, video stream analysis, and robotics and is designed to work with off-the-shelf cameras and minimal development overhead. Groundlight tracks model confidence and continuously optimizes performance using feedback from expert human monitors, combining traditional deep learning, foundation models, edge computing, and real-time human supervision. The company says its pilot service is now available to select customers and highlights use cases for small and mid-sized manufacturers as well as large retail and warehouse footprints. Groundlight emerged from stealth and is backed by $10 million in new funding led by Madrona, with participation from Greycroft Partners, Founders Co-op, Flying Fish, AscendVC, and EssenceVC. Co-founded in 2019 by Leo Dirac and Avi Geiger and headquartered in Seattle, Groundlight positions itself to simplify ML adoption for non-expert developers and operations teams.
